The requests for passports are received in the consular section from Monday through Friday from 10:AM to 4:PM

Assistance in finding medical help in case of illness or accident, you can contact a consular officer so that he can offer you assistance in finding a doctor, dentist or hospital.

Assistance in the case of stolen or lost funds or any other economic resource, a consular officer can help you contact family members, bank or employer in order to make the necessary arrangements so that funds can be delivered to you.

Visits to jail
If you are arrested, you must ask the authorities to notify the Dominican Embassy.  The Dominican Embassy can not bail you out of jail, since you are subject to Canadian laws.  On the other hand the consuls can protect your legitimate interests and reassure that there is no type of discrimination on your behalf.  They can provide you with a list of local lawyers, visit you and contact members of your family or close relatives.

The Consular Section also:

Issues transcripts of birth certificates of children of Dominican citizens born in Canada.  Please take a note that this document can be issued when the child is just born or before he/she reaches three months of age.

bullet

Prepare and legalizes Consular invoices, for the shipment of merchandise and vehicles.

bullet

Prepare documentation for Animal Transfer.

bullet Issues Traveling documents. Consular officers cannot act as travel agents, banks, lawyers, investigators, or law enforcement officers. Please do not expect them to find you employment, get you residence or driving permits, act as interpreters, search for missing luggage, or settle disputes with hotel managers. They can, however, tell you how to get help on these and other matters.
